If you draw the figure and have the internet then you’ve heard of Proko, the YouTube drawing education phenomenon that is Stan Prokopenko. Stan’s videos are among the most viewed drawing tutorial videos in the world.
Many of us artists struggle with the idea of gaining popularity or making a living off of teaching what we know. “Fear of success” is a common reason given for backing off of a serious art career. “If this goes well, I might have to stop doing ______” is a phrase we hear all too often.
So we’re excited to talk with Stan and find out how it got started and how it fuels him both creatively and financially. We will find out how he balances a growing entity like Proko along with family and his own art career.
